We are pleased to announce that three of Kwinbon's toxin fluorescence quantification products have been evaluated by the National Feed Quality Inspection and Testing Centre (Beijing).
In order to continuously grasp the current quality and performance of mycotoxin immunoassay products (kits, test cards/strips and related products) in the domestic market, the National Centre for Feed Quality Inspection and Testing (Beijing) carried out an evaluation of mycotoxin immunoassay products in July 2024.
Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by some fungi (e.g. Aspergillus, Penicillium and Fusarium) in the course of their growth that are prone to cause pathological changes and physiological metamorphosis in humans, and are highly toxic. At present, there are more than 400 kinds of mycotoxins known, the common ones are aflatoxin, ochratoxin, ergot alkaloids, deoxynivalenol and so on.
Mycotoxins may not be familiar to the public, but in fact, this highly toxic and carcinogenic fungal metabolite has infiltrated almost all kinds of edible and forage agricultural products. From maize, wheat, barley and peanuts to dried fruits, fruits, spices, herbs and milk, mycotoxins are ubiquitous and even affect environmental safety as the human-animal industrial chain evolves.
Mycotoxins are resistant to corrosion and high temperature, and can contaminate food and are difficult to remove at all stages of food production, including cultivation, planting, processing, transport and cooking. Therefore, professional testing methods, such as chromatography, immunoassay and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, are needed to accurately detect mycotoxins in food.
The three products of Kwinbon - Aflatoxin B1 Residue Fluorescence Quantitative Test Strips, Vomitoxin Residue Fluorescence Quantitative Test Strips and Zearalenone Residue Fluorescence Quantitative Test Strips have passed the evaluation, and the main evaluation indexes include: applicability, accuracy and the ability to detect the actual samples and other three aspects.
