Recently, Beijing Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau notified an important case on food safety, successfully investigated and dealt with the offence of operating aquatic food with malachite green exceeding the standard in Dongcheng Jinbao Street Shop of Beijing Periodic Selection Information Technology Co.
It is understood that this case originated from the routine food safety sampling inspection by Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau. During the sampling process, law enforcement officers found that there was malachite green and its metabolite cryptochrome malachite green residue exceeding the standard in crucian carp sold by Dongcheng Jinbao Street Store of Beijing Periodic Selection Information Technology Co. Malachite green is a commonly used fungicide for aquaculture, but its use in aquatic products has been explicitly banned by the state due to its potential harm to human health.
After detailed investigation and testing, the Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau confirmed that the malachite green residue in the crucian carp sold by the shop did exceed the standards set out in the List of Drugs and Other Compounds Prohibited for Use in Food Animals. This behaviour not only violated the relevant provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, but also seriously threatened the health and safety of consumers.
In response to this offence, the Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau made an administrative penalty decision of a fine of RMB 100,000 and confiscation of the illegal proceeds against the Dongcheng Jinbao Street Store of Beijing Periodic Selection Information Technology Company Limited in accordance with the law. This penalty not only highlights the zero-tolerance attitude of the Market Supervision Department towards food safety violations, but also reminds the majority of food operators to strictly comply with food safety laws and regulations to ensure that the food sold meets the national standards and the health needs of consumers.
At the same time, the Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau also took the opportunity to issue a food safety warning to consumers. The Bureau reminded consumers that when purchasing and consuming aquatic products, they should pay attention to choosing formal channels and reputable merchants, and try to avoid purchasing aquatic products of unknown origin or unreliable quality. At the same time, consumers should also wash and cook aquatic products adequately before consumption to ensure food safety and hygiene.
The investigation of this case is not only a severe crackdown on the offence, but also a strong impetus to the work of food safety supervision. Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau will continue to increase food safety supervision, strengthen the supervision and inspection of food operators to ensure the stability of the food market and the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
Food safety is a major issue related to people's health and life safety, and requires the joint efforts and attention of the whole society. Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau calls on consumers and food operators to participate in food safety work together to create a safe, secure and healthy food consumption environment.
The extensive use of antibiotics in animal husbandry and aquaculture, while improving the growth rate and survival rate of animals to a certain extent, may also lead to problems of antibiotic residues and resistance. By providing advanced antibiotic testing technology and products, Kwinbon helps to promote the food industry in a healthier and more sustainable direction. By strengthening the detection and control of antibiotic residues, the problem of antibiotic misuse and resistance can be reduced, protecting consumer health and the ecological environment.
